Reiki
I’ve posted earlier about the path of my recovery from stroke. One of the most remarkable interventions has been reiki, sent distantly from a dear old friend in Maine (the friendship is nearly 50 years old; Martha is forever young), 3,000 miles distant (distance apparently don’t mean shit to the universal spiritual consciousness of the dynamics of life). Hahnemann referenced Franz Mesmer’s experiments with “animal magnetism” in 19th century Vienna & Paris, in §288 in the Organon and evidently employed this in practice to some extent; Mesmerism embodies the principles involved in reiki shrouded in 19th century European iatromechanical language and sensibility. Mikao Usui developed the practice of reiki, more attuned with Eastern spiritual traditions, in the 1920s in Japan.
In the first session sent distantly, I had full & lasting resolution of left hemispacialagnosia & of longstanding pelvic, back & neck pain of ankylosing spondylitis. It would be difficult to find ordinary language to describe the experience of receiving reiki; receiving may not be the best term, tho it is part of the process of participating; I might describe it as the feeling of being wrapped in love.
This is a short video of my friend & reiki practitioner, Martha Spruce, in Brunswick, Maine (shared with her permission), 🙏 who can be found at https://www.hearts-n-hands.com/:
